GE Advantium 120 mystery

While driving on the turnpike DW and I think we are going past a bakery. Smells like bread. Then it kind of smells like electric or plastic. What is was is the GE microwave-convection oven that spontaneously started baking the rolls stored in it, still in the bag.

Now if we plug it in, the element starts heating and will not shut off unless unplugged or the door is open. It's less than 2 years old and they are around $700 or more.

We tried their "reset" a simple unplug and plug back in and of course that was useless.

It sure does. If we replace it and it works again, how could we ever trust it is safe?

We were lucky to have been on board when it happened and unplugged it. It could have been a disaster.
