TandW has hit on something to check out. He mentioned anything that plugs in to your genny's PC board. The remote control panel does just that. It is powered by the same 7.5 amp fuse as well. It plugs in to the right hand side panel of the genny case. Unplug that and try starting from the genny panel it self, with a good fuse of course.

The wiring of that remote control panel is also on page 38 of the manual I sent you a link to.
