Yep. Found a couple of new ones in CA, very expensive. Am hoping to find a used one in good condition from someone that has removed their Generac...

If you could post a photo of offending muffler, we may can suggest a cheaper alternative.

Seeming that I am at home with the flu, and you can only watch so much TV. I did some digging, I couldn't find much on that generator for parts.
However, the Q55G looks to have the same engine as the NP-66G & IM-72LP models. So that does allow for broader search information.
The Generac part number for the factory muffler I believe is 0G3393.
If you can find the brand, serial and model numbers of the Engine itself, that may give another route to go.
Is the header that comes off the heads still in good shape? And if so what diameter is the pipe? May be able to find an equipment muffler that may work as a replacement.
good info for your genny here

Thanks for all the reply's and info. My muffler (photos attached) is similar to the Empower, except the intake pipe is in the center of muffler.
Part # I was given for new one is 092675A. S/N of my Generac is 1972886.
Muffler was attached to Left side of genny (if looking at the front).

Go to a real muffler / exhaust shop. They will be able to makeup something. In my experience they can do complete jobs for about the same money as me buying components.

Sorry to Revive this OLD thread but did you ever have any luck finding a replacement? My j-tube rotted out right where it connects to the muffler. Just under the u-bolt.
PS: literally it broke the evening before we left for 2 week road trip. A spiderweb of baling wire and some muffler tape and we were able to leave late the next morning.

Muffler
Found one on internet but price too high. Took mine to a welder and had him repair it. If I find information about the one on internet, I’ll send to you.

surprising a welder could "fix" the old muffler cheaper than a brand new one. That one was in rough shape. It basically would have to be completely refabricated with new material - and then not be galvanized to protect against further corrosion related damage.
