Generator issue need advice

My 2017 Class C has an Onan 4kw generator. Yesterday while boondocking the AC current stopped. I checked all the usual items. Gen runs fine tested the output at the generator to the solenoid on the generator and it's putting out 110V. The leads on my tester were not long enough to safely test the output from the generator's solenoid. I tried to test voltage at the transfer switch which is very hard to get at. When plugged into shore power all is OK. Just not getting power from generator to house.

ANY SUGGESTIONS? Are there common problems related to this issue?

The breaker on the generator near the starting switch may have tripped. Also, the automatic transfer switch may have failed in the shore power position.

Hmmmm? It sounds to me like like David's ATS idea, could be the issue. I had a similar issue about 5 years ago, except the power wasn't supplied while plugged into shore power, but worked great on generator power. Replacing the ATS solved the issue. On my ATS (SurgeGuard brand that came with my motorhome), it was a bit difficult to remove the cover, to check connections etc. Good luck with solving your issue.

Thanks everyone. I wasn't aware of a circuit breaker on the generator. That was all it was. A man next to me in camp saw that I was working on the Generator and asked what was going on because he had the same generator and wasn't aware of the CB on the generator either. Now we both are.

Thanks again

Thanks the manual that I have in the owners pack is on a CD. My laptop does not have a reader. I will print some of it out when I get home. The link you sent will be very helpful

They make external USB CD drives for not much money. Worth every penny in my book. Here's a link to an Amazon page with a bunch of them: https://www.amazon.com/s?k=usb+cd+dr..._ts-doa-p_2_12
