Generator problem

I'm having a problem with the generator on my '93 Pace Arrow.
It starts right up, but surges for a bit. After a while when it leans out (runs relatively smooth), I turn on one of the air conditioners. It will run for approximately ten minitues or so, and then start surging again and eventually dies. Then it will not restart.
I really don't know much about generators, so I don't have a clue as to the problem.
I just had it serviced last fall, and at the time it ran fine. It has practically no time on it since then.
It is an Onan Marquis 7000.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Carburetor jet could be partially clogged, by a new one on Amazon for less than 50.00 dollars and be done with it after you have trouble shot your issue and are sure this is the problem. Old fuel or fuel that has not been treated gums up the tiny holes on the jet causing an issue such as you describe. Good luck

If it runs for 10 minutes, I don't belive it's the carburetor.
It's more like a fuel supply issue, like pourus fuel lines or bad connections letting air into the fuel system.

As the minutes go buy, the gas level in the carburator could be slowly dropping until its to low to run.

A clear filter will let you see if there are air bubbles in the gas.

The same thing can happen if the gas filter is partially clogged.

The carburator was replaced when it was serviced, so hopefully it would not be bad this soon, but who knows. Thanks for the leads.

Hi, thanks for the quick reply. Did you put store gas in the gas tank before storing your rv last year? Only takes one winter to potentially have clogged carb. If you are mechanically inclined you could take the carb off and take it apart to make sure it's clean.Pull the jet out and spray with carb cleaner while inspecting jet to make sure all of the tiny holes are not clogged. I believe someone else mentioined fuel pump or possible tiny holes in your fuel line allowing too much air into the fuel pump for proper operation. At least you have a few ideas now, let us know what you find out.

New gas with sea foam. And find non ethanol gas to get it cleared up. Ethanol attacks those old fuel lines and pump. It also is shy on btu's
