Heater not working

I have a 2005 Nash trailer, 25'. I discovered the heater isn't working on my trip. :( I found the 15 fuse was blown, so I put a new one in. As soon as I did, it blew as well.
Any ideas where to look for my short?
Thanks in advance

The first thing that comes on is the fan, designed to purge any gas from the combustion chamber.

I'd be seeing if the fan spins by hand.

Is the fan starting for the purge cycle? If not, it may be locked-up.

When a fuse blows right away it is usually two things.

1. The motor is drawing more amps than usual. Like people mentioned make sure the fan spins freely.

2. A short somewhere - look for mouse damage on a wire. These are more difficult to find as the bare wire might not be easily visible.

Good luck

Heater not working

Thanks for the suggestions.

I'm assuming this is the fan:

No, it doesn't spin freely. I stuck my hand in there and tried to move it and it doesn't move. Do I need to remove the whole unit to work with it and get it to soon?

Checking the wires that I can see, they look good. I see no evidence of mice.

Brand/Model would be helpful

Does the furnace have an exterior access panel where the exhaust/intake ports are?

YES...then you remove the exhaust/intake and then you can remove the access panel to get to the components

NO...then you will need to remove furnance from the cabinet from the Inside of the RV

Get your multimeter out and check for current at the fan. Jim.

If the fan/squirrel cage will not turn, voltage really doesn't matter. Fix first problem first.

Heater not working

Thanks everyone for your input and suggestions. Unfortunately I broke my leg last Saturday afternoon (yes, really!) and this will have to wait. Hopefully in a couple of months I will have mobility again and can look at this again.
