HELP !
My husband is in the back woods of Georgia for hunting season .. We have a 40ft motorhome and the leveling system and generator are not working .. we thought maybe it was the batteries but the motorhome starts right up? Could this still be the battery or maybe a fuse?

Your generator starter motor may be run off the "house Batteries" different from battery used to start engine.
Same with the leveling jacks.
However, on my coach, the engine will charge the house batteries. So with the engine running, you should be able to operate leveling jacks and start generator.
Also, someone may have tuned off the 12volt cut off switch. Not sure if this will lock out the jacks and generator but it's something to check.

How do you know the batteries seemed to be charged. How are you checking them? The on board gauge? What do they read?
You say you are hooked to shore power. Do all things requiring 110 volts work? Microwave, electrical outlets?
I still believe your house batteries are the problem, either dead or not connected.

When you say the generator won't work... What do you mean? Will it crank? Does the generator engine run but just won't deliver power to the coach? Need to be very detailed as to what "not working" means..

generator won't work:
Will not crank?
Will not start?
Will start but not run?
Runs but does not produce 120v AC?
What voltage do your house batteries show?

My Freightliner chassis has a 135amp in-line fuse between the battery and the cable run to the front of the coach , where the gen set and levelers attach.
The fuse is within 3' of the battery , mounted on the frame. If you have no 12v power to the gen set & levelers , and good power at the batteries , you'll need to look for something similar to the picture below.
From left to right, starter relay, chassis battery fuse 135 amp, coach battery fuse 135 amp.

Well,
It sure would be nice to know the year/make/model/engine/gen type-size etc. of the coach so more accurate answers can possibly be given.
