HELP- unknown brand RV water softener

the pictured softener came with my RV. This is the only thing I have no literature on from the PO. I have some questions. It has 1 bottom nipple and 1 top nipple(for water in & out). It has no name brand identification anywhere on the container

1. how do you regen?

2. how much salt? table or rock?

3. which is hard water "IN", which is "SOFT" water out?

thank you

You might try contacting Rick Dahl of the RV Water Filter Store. He may be able to ID it for you. He's very knowledgeable and helpful

Looks like you can take two strap wrenches (might not need both) to take the large black nut at top loose. Pretty sure you use rock salt, just fill up what space isn't taken up by resin media.

Would 1 assume...the hose fitting with the "Y" to be exit? Y installed for regen flushing, so the "outlet" hose to the RV wouldn't have to be disconnected during regen?

Craig, TY for the heads up...I won't bother anyone I don't plan to spend $ with. I do not feel it right to take someone's time asking questions for my gain, without giving them something in return. That is not to say I'd not buy from the man...but this unit is obviously not his, so I don't feel he should try to give support for the unit....(if that makes sense)

thanx

I use one of these Portable water softener for your boat or RV that minimizes water spots, filters water, and reduces hard water stains caused by minerals in marine environments. you might get a water filter like they use here and use their regeneration method.
