Holiday oven pilot won't stay lit

Hi, I'm trying to fix the oven in my old Winnebago. The only way to light it is to turn the temp knob up and hold a lighter to it. The pilot light only lights when the burner is going. Once it gets up to temp, it goes out and needs to be relit.
I'm starting to think the gas lines are hooked up wrong. It seems the temperature knob is only hooked up to the pilot light. It's been this way since I got it 5 years ago.
I don't know the history of it, but it's probably at least 40 years old.
Can anyone tell me if the burner should be connected to the temperature control knob? It looks like the line going thru the temperature knob is kind of small for the main burner supply. I just don't understand how the control valve would know when to apply gas to the burner the way it is hooked up.
The model number is missing from the tag, it says sattler mfg.

I got it figured out. I just needed to adjust the pilot light.
There are 2 pilots. One that stays lit and is too small to activate the thermocouple.
When I turn the oven knob on, it turns on the second bigger pilot that activates the thermocouple which turns on the burner.
The adjusting screw for the small pilot was closed too much so it never lit.
