House Battery Drain.

2007 Tiffin Allegro Bus.
When the RV is sitting at my house and not connected to AC I fell the house batteries seem to be going down in voltage too guickly.

I have a clamp on DC ampmeter and just checked the current flow in the house battery cables with the House disconnet off.

The ampmeter shows about 4.9 AMPS being used with the disconect OFF
With the disconnet ON it shows a couple of tenths more. This question is NOT about what is normal parasitic draw.

What could be using House battery power with the disconnect OFF
Checked -- Inverter is OFF

some possibilities ??????
LPG tank relay? -- Do not see one.
Wireless and regular electric door locks -- these work with the disconnect OFF
Auto Transfer Switch ???

Thoughts. on how to proceed????

thx Dale

Test the amp draw with the inverter positive cable off.

ATS has no 12 functions, not your problem.

ok ---- I did make a mistake. Hanging head low!!!!!

I was just rechecking and the inverter was ON. Even though the DISPLAY was Off the inverter was in fact ON

When I rechecked the reading with the inverter OFF the amp draw is now someting like one half of an amp 12 DC. While that is not low there are several displays on around the RV (like the unusable older sattelite system)
.5 amp at 12 DC is something I can probably live with.

It does, however, highlight to me that when I replace my NORCOLD in a couple of months it will probably be with a DC compressor unit. Therefore I would not have to leave any inverter on (even if I added a second 1000W unit) and deal with additional drain. My other option is the "Amish" cooling unit that I had in my other RV for almost six years.

sorry for the confusion and incorrect information.

thx Dale

Just a point, my Xantrex 1000 watt PSW inverter draws less then .5 amps.

Some of the old Magnums draw more then the fridge they power do.
