I think you made the right choice. My MH has an 8KW Onan Diesel Inverter genny, and it handles everything I have thrown at it.
You cannot top Honda reliability. My EU3000is is 10 years old, and has not given me any problems. I'm glad they finally came out with the 7000. I would buy it in a flash if I needed that much power.
