How ya”lol - Thetford Toilet Problems

New member to this site. Reading thru some of the posts, seems I will fit in good lol!! I have a 2002 HR Imperial. Have had it for 7 years. Wife and I retired in March 2022 so we are out and about more. Pull a 16’ inclosed with a Harley or Side by side or Golf Cart or last but not least our
‘73 super B. All depends on where we are going.

My latest read was about my Thetford push button toilet. You have to reach behind it and turn the red knob every time to get the valve to open. Anyone else have that issue?

Hi Caristagc!
I've not ever seen that set up in a bathroom, sounds very awkward to me.
Welcome to IRV2! Good to have you here and I look forward to reading about your adventures. Sit back, relax and please, above all……stay safe out there!

exactly which model do you have?

A thetford aria deluxe II is an electric toilet. You shouldn't have to reach behind it to turn any knobs.

I had the motor go out on mine and finding the correct parts was very easy on amazon.

On an Aria II, a worn motor/valve assembly will need a twist to get it started, since it will eventually start to jam when it closes. It will be intermittent at first, then become more and more frequent.

To replace it, get a new assembly and seals, close the water valve, disconnect the wiring harness from the controller, and remove the toilet. Remove the motor/valve assembly. The new assembly should come with new well nuts. Push the old ones into the toilet, put in the new ones, install the new assembly and seal, and reinstall the toilet.
