HWH levling system

I've had to replace one solenoid for my room extension. Afterwards i ran the room in and out several times to insure everything was working properly.
The last time I ran the room out it would not retract.
I again followed the HWH troubleshooting guide but could not find the problem. I began retracing everything I had done, but everything was correct.
Then by chance I operated the bypass lever on the new solenoid; it was working properly. I again reviewed the service manual; then it jumped out at me, the bypass lever was in the wrong position. I flipped the lever up/parallel to the solenoid then tried the retract switch again. It worked!
Somehow during that last extend movement the bypass lever had moved to the open position, which of course prevented it from closing and allowing fluid for the retract move to freely route back into the reservoir.
Lesson learned, sometimes the problem is right in front of you but you can't see the tree for the forest.

Yup, been there done that. It's nice when the fix is easy. All of my HWH Leveling valves are the lever type.

Safe travels
