HWH Positioning Solenoid replacement

I have a 2005 Itasca Suncruiser with 1 of 4 level rams that retracts over time. Can I remove this solenoid and replace O-Rings and clean the actuator without removing the oil and retracting the other level rams? The Solenoid replacement is pricey at $250.00, model number is RAP 42632 and I believe it has been replaced with a newer model number. The solenoid works as expected to extend the ram but leaks off over time. The other 3 are rock solid.

Thanks for your help.

I believe you have to have all the pressure off the system. IE: all the rams retracted. I don't think you need to drain the oil but my get some spill when you take the solenoid off. If you had the other rams extended there would be pressure on the entire system. Even if you had them up off the ground, the springs would still be putting pressure on them. I also believe you have to back off the solenoid just like you would do if the control failed and you needed to relieve the pressure.

I assume it is an HWH system. There are a lot of threads on here about working on them. Do a search. I've got the same system but have never had to work on it. My previous coach had the HWH with the joystick, and I did work on that a few times. But you could relive all the pressure by moving the joystick back and forth a few times.

Contact Paul (AZPETE on the Irv2 forum). He works for HWH and can answer your questions. His email is pfmaddox@att.net and his phone number is 602-549-3638. He is a Commercial Member and has posted that his phone is always on, and if not answered, leave a message. He helped me a lot as I was rebuilding my leveling system - all for free.
