HWH slide not moving-emergency measure

I was talking with a mobile RV tech about my slide not moving even though the motor was running.(MH sat for a year at a body shop)
He told me in an emergency to use the HWH auto-level and while the jacks were extending to press the slide retract button. It works! The slide retracted as the jacks went down. He said the solenoid was stuck.
Also, the slide worked after I did that without using the jacks.

That's a good trick. I didn't realize that the slides are hydraulic on the model coach you have. I remember a cylinder for the genny up front on the one I looked at (cylinder was broken).

That genset slide(Kwikee brand) cylinder is compressed air powered, as is the step cover. There are a couple of MH brands that used Hyd. cylinders for the genset slide and step cover.
