Hydro Flame 8500-11 Series Problem

Just had to shut the furnace down. It is blowing real hot. The air is so hot that it melted my register vents. & is so hot, you can not keep your hand on them. I read that it is supposed to shut down at 180 degrees, but I don't think it is. Could this be a bad Limit Switch ? Or something else ? Thanks

Hello and . We are glad to have you join us here and we look forward to reading of your adventures and experiences. I am sure you will enjoy the website and forums. Good luck, stay safe and keep us posted.
The high limit thermostat has not done it job in opening the circuit to the control board and ceasing the operation of the burner. I suggest you have a qualified technician diagnose as to why it is allowed to get so hot and not only replace the bad high limit thermostat (switch) but correct the cause.

There's lots of issues it could be from bad limit switch, to bad gas valve. But it obviously needs service.
