I need help with Generator

I have an 1995 Onan 4000, Emerald Plus Generator, very low hrs, 450 hrs, it starts fine but after running approx 5 sec and starts to power the coach it trips the breaker on the back of the generator, this is with nothing turned on in the coach ??
Can u give me any ideas

Everything is good from the generator to the breaker. From the breaker, it power goes to the transfer switch. So, unpower everything and open the transfer switch. But first, does this unit work well on shore power?

My guess would be either a bad breaker or a wiring fault with a short between the generator and your distribution panel.

Most auto transfer switchs have a 30 second delay. If the generator breaker is tripping in 5 seconds, I'd be looking at the wiring between the generator and transfer switch.

First place to look would be the junction box, where the generator wiring meets the RV wiring.
