Ice maker does not make ice

Hi all, following a couple of days of stay in an unleveled site our ice make does not make ice any longer. Not sure if it is related. This is a residential fridge.
Lease advise if there is anything I can do or should I call for repair?

Knowing what brand and model of residential fridge might help get answers.

Do you have a dedicated , water filter for the ice maker , maybe the water quality was as bad as the site level.

We have the Frigidaire residential in ours. On a few occasions I have had to let ours sit and totally defrost for a day or so and then turn back on. I can only assume a water line is freezing stopping the ice maker. Not sure if this could be your issue but it is an easy free fix you could try.

Defrost as cjd 10 said. The water line that feeds the ice maker inside of the freezer is frozen. Or I used a hair dyer on that water line for 5 minutes and water started again. Then did not have to defrost whole fridge or freezer.

Kitchen Aide side by side in our home was noted for this problem. No fix other than use a hair dryer.

PIA to say the least.

Thanks all. Could you please let me know where should I point the hair dryer. The connection to the ice maker or the whole backside.
We do have a side by side Kitchnaide. The freezer is a big drawer.

Ours was a side by side with the freezer on the left side so they are different. That said the problem may still be the same. There was a hose at the right bottom of the front of the ice maker. It was rubber and that is where the ice would form internally not allowing for the water to fill the tray.

The DW says she would sometime run the hair dryer along the top of the tray where the plastic finger are that rotate through to push the ice out. She said that ice would some time form there and not allow the fingers to clear the ice as well.

So the actual ice maker is where the problems is. I was stunned when we called customer service and we were told to look in the manual as the information for the hair dryer was there. Really a $2k refrigerator and a repair was to use a hair dryer to fix an engineering mistake.

I would first open the front of the ice maker compartment and check that the ice is not jammed, which on occasion has stopped ours from making further ice.

Ok all, here is the update....the hair dryer didnt work....or i didnt know how to do it right. Called the technician. He came yesterday took the ice maker ought went to his truck opened it and came back showed me the unit opened. One of the connections were burned! Hmmmmm. So he is bringing a new unit to install today.
I hope what he showed me was my unit. I dont want to be untrusting but dont know why he didnt open the unit in front of me as there are only couple of screws.
I guess I have been watching too many bad TV shows.

Ice maker does not make ice

I have an automatic ice maker. Functions for about 2 minutes every other day. Shes about 5 foot 4. Doubles as an automatic dish washer.
Just pokin. Glad you got it fixed!
Happy Trails
