I posted a thread last month, describing why I would like to install a device that would automatically fire up my generator in the event that I lost shore power while visiting a CG.

Someone recommended a Generator Logic Control manufactured by Intellitec. This seemed like a good idea at the time, since my MH came with an Intellitec Power Management System from the factory.

I tracked down an Intellitec dealer, and ordered the GLC. When it arrived, it had absolutely no installation instructions whatsoever. I did not intend on installing this myself, so I took the GLC to my friendly neighborhood RV shop. He said without a wiring diagram he could not install it either.

I contacted Intellitec, and they referred me to page 2 of this PDF file. While the file helped, it still did not provide complete installation instructions.

I called Intellitec back and spoke to a Tech Support guy. He said that their GLC units are normally installed by MH manufacturers and that they have no specific installation instructions. Great!

Referring to the PDF document, the two wire terminals that have me confused are pins #3 & 6. Pin #3 says the terminal/wire goes to "Thermostat Input" with no further description. Pin #6 says it goes to "Activity Input", whatever that means. Again, the Intellitec rep, could not tell me what these terminals hooked up to either, so they were of no help.

I'm on the verge of returning the GLC, but before I do, I thought I'd turn to this forum to see if anyone had any ideas on how to wire this thing.

Thanks Mike, I was hoping you'd offer to help!

I have the EMS 900 system.

The description on the first page covers this. In paragraph 3, it says that if the thermostat calls for the compressor to turn on, the GLC will start the generator. So for pin #3, you need an input from the thermostat or AC controller that tells the GLC when the AC is being turned on.

Pin #6 is covered in the last paragraph. The GLC will only auto-start the gen for 24 hours. After that, it'll shut down. That's to keep from running in storage. Pin #6 resets the 24 hour timeout. So you need something to tickle that input every 24 hours while you want this operational. Could be a manual button, or could be an input from a door sensor or something else that happens while the coach is actually in use.
