Intellitec EMS Issue
I have a 03 Pace Arrow with the 00-00597-000 climate control module and the 00-00591-100 master controller. I can run both AC's if I use the test switch on the controller, so I think the AC's are OK. The AC 2 circuit on the climate control is working OK for the back AC. The AC1 circuit starts the compressor on the front AC but it almost immediately kicks out. If I reverse the J2 and J3 plugs on the control module, the front AC runs OK (run by AC2), and the back AC (run by AC1) compressor kicks out. I have replaced the control module because I thought it was bad, and I still have the same issue. Before I spend another $150 on the climate control module, I would appreciate input if this will solve my issue, or is there something else I should check? Thanks, Mike

Do you have the same behavior if using the generator?
Does your coach have 30amp or 50amp shore service?

This http://www.irv2.com/forums/downloads.php?do=file&id=133 may be of some help if it is not just simply shedding the loads as per design. Is your coach on a 30 amp power cord? Read the "How it works" section and let us know if you are getting any faults. Good luck and keep us posted.

Coach is 30A service.
Same issue using gen or shore power.
I have already read the referenced download. Thanks, but it was not much help in troubleshooting!
After the usual 2 min delay, the compressor will start and run maybe 5-30 secs and then kick out. It will then cycle for another 2 min and then try again.
Again, if I switch the J2 and J3 plugs on the controller, the problem goes to the other AC unit (tries to start and kicks out). The unit that was a problem now runs OK.

Does THIS post help at all?
I am not familiar with your Intellitec system plus I could not find a manual on the Internet.

Make certain that the units themselves are not an issue and you are blaming it on the EMS. If you have to, use a heavy power cord to connect the units to a free standing receptacle not through the EMS. What do you find?

I can run both units OK by using the test switch on the controller box. My generator has a separate 20a circuit that feeds the front ac directly (30a feeds the rest of the coach). If I run the generator, the front unit still cycles on/off. I do not believe I have a unit issue. I read somewhere that florescent lights will affect the intellitec unit. Anybody had any experience with this? I will try to see if this is an issue - a long shot I know!

I had one Thin-Lite that affected my Intellitec EMS display and also messed with my tank level gauges. It did not affect the operations of the EMS just the displays by giving false readings.
Obviously, it was the ballast but I replaced the entire fixture.
Other have reported problems with TV's, fridges, etc. that were caused by Thin-Lites.

OK figured out the issue! It is a florescent light above the intellitec thermostat unit that is interfering with the signal for AC1 to the controller box. Light off - the unit works fine. Light on, and the intellitec unit immediately cycles off the AC1 compressor. I would have never guessed the answer. I changed the bulbs in the light several months ago and did not realize it caused the issue. Thanks to another post that mentioned this as a possibility. The guy said he spent 2 years looking for the answer. Hopefully, this post will save someone else the aggravation I have had on this issue. Shame on intellitec for using a frequency that is so close to a florescent light.

I don't think the florescent tubes are the cause versus the ballast inside the fixture.
I replaced the entire fixture but since I do not like the Cool White tubes I exchanged the new Cool-White tubes that came in the new fixture for my older Warm White tubes.
End of problem.

It is not a frequency being used to operate the air cond. or furnace. It is dirty dc power fed back into the dc power grid from a bad ballast. Anytime you are trouble shooting a Direct Current circuit look for any alternating current as well as dc voltage. Bad converter chargers will do the same to many control boards.
