I have owned the RV for about 2 years now and three times over night the step has retracted by itself.
The step switch by the door has always been in the OFF position, so when this does happen in the morning and I open the door it extends again and stays extended. (Until the next time it happens)
Anyone know why it would do this on occasion.
I have not put the key in the ignition or started it prior to this happening.
If the switch is in the ON position the step extends and retracts based on whether the door is opened or closed.
The previous time this happened i disconnected the connector to the controller and motor and verified that in various switch positions or ignition positions that the controller was getting the required voltage and subsequently verified that it was 0 V when it shouldnt be getting any voltage.
I cleaned the ground to the chassis and checked for any split or frayed wires.

Anyone know where i might find this? Could this be an indication of a failing controller or maybe some corrosion build up inside the controller
