Kwikee steps issues too!

My steps needed a push to retract...now after the door is closed and steps retracted, they extend when the key is turned on! Not good! I checked ground and the plug...all looked ok! Any idea why steps would extend vs retract when ignition is activated?

Almost sounds like a controller but it could also be relay or wiring issue with the ignition.

Another thread I just read today sugested a window switch installed which would let you manually retract/extend the steps.

But check the wiring to the controller to make sure nothing is broken. Disconnect the motor first or you may get some pinched hands or fingers. Connect a votmeter to the disconnected leads and monitor the polarity reversal. Beats injuring your hands The meter will tell you when you got it fixed. Then reconnect the motor. Again watch fingers.
