Kwikee Steps. (yea I know, those again)
Seems like every time I fix something, something else breaks!
Put new Phifer "pet resistant" screen in the screen door this morning. Looks great, I think it will work.
I worked on it in place and 'blocked' the steps from extending so I could place the ladder there and all was going well until I finished and closed the door. The steps had quit working. Checked the fuse and it's good. It's hot here so I do everything in the early morning and wont go under the rig with meters and tools until tomorrow morning.
Any ideas on what to look for? I don't know how many time the step has been blocked before fully extending in the past but I know it has been a lot of times!

Steps are back in working order finally. I ordered the parts needed and manufactured a pigtail test connector for the steps just so I could go through the steps (pun intended) of testing out the controller. I even wired the reed switch into it so I could test it at the same time. In the process, I reran the reed switch signal wire back through the connector like it should be. That also made the wiring nest look a little neater! It have been bypassed at the factory. A few years ago I had to rewire everything because things were just not working as they should.
Anyway, went through all of the procedures to test and made sure everything was working properly. In the end it was most likely a case of corroded wiring and/or grounding connections.
I had also ordered a DPDT 30 amp switch, just in case, as we are leaving for higher elevations in a few days.
Thanks for the lead to the video.

I just got back from a three week trip to Colorado and it was wonderful. The steps never failed to work properly in all that time so I guess I got them fixed. Even the hesitation that has been present for a number of years went away. Did get a lot of mud/sand on them and had to bang on them with a hammer and oil pivot points when going back in the wood to find a good spot.
Then on the last day the WH drain plug ruptured! Something else to fix now!
