Leaking Atwood Hot Water Heater

After five months in Florida, snow birding, I found a steady leak on my 10 gal. Atwood water heater. As the leak is on the outside of my MH I've chosen to wait until I return to Pa. in early April to fix the problem. Did some research and can purchase a new aluminum tank ( part # 93953 ) for $ 254. A new Atwood 10 gal. lists for approximately $700/$800 bucks. Before I choose either of those options I plan on pulling the current unit and inspecting the tank. I have the option of personally TIG Welding or Alumoloy Brazing the tank if it appears repairable. I've had great success with both processes in the past and hope the more expensive options mentioned earlier can be avoided.

Removal of the existing tank appears uncomplicated and I've got adequate access to all gas/water lines and 120v wiring. I anticipate the actual WH removel will take 1/2 hour with reinstall being the same.

Will post a update with pics once I've completed the repair.
