LiFePO4 Smart Battery Warning

Hi,

I purchased 2 x 50AH drop in replacements of Lithium batteries from a company called Smart Batteries.

Buyer Beware!!!

I strongly recommend avoiding any purchases from Smart Batteries.

Why? They will take your payment, no problem. They fail to advise anyone of a real delivery date. My batteries failed within the warranty period (no longer hold a charge). A warranty claim was submitted by me. Have not heard back from this company. I gave them the benefit of a doubt but either they are a scam or totally inept at running a business.

The number of BBB complaints is significant and just trying to help spare anyone considering them the pain of getting delivery and then getting them to honour their warranty. The BBB will be getting one more complaint when I finish this trip I am on.

$2000 down the drain!!

Steve

Did you purchase them direct from Smart Battery or a distributor?

Is Smart Battery the manufacture or the distributor of the batteries you purchased. If they are only the distributor who is the manufacture? If they are only the distributor I would contact the manufacturer and submit a warranty claim directly to them and not deal with Smart Battery any longer. I would also advise the manufacture about the problems with Smart Battery and they may stop using them to sell their brand.

that stinks but just file charge back with CC used. Companies who don't honor a warranty will lose. You did not get what you paid for.

Nice part about this is the CC company will. pay you and then go after the merchant.

is this company selling the real. product or a counterfeit made in China product made with crappy China made batteries vs a made in Japan or USA first quality battery?

This happens a LOT. Cheap electronic that have any sort of Li battery end up with low end batteries... sad we have to be aware in this day & age.

I am well past the timeframe that a CC would reimburse me.

Who knows ... this is why there are so many BBB complaints ... the company doesn't deal with anyone when there is an issue. They've lost major orders b/c of this.

bummer all my cards provide ability to receive charge back and consider warrantee part of the deal. I've gotten refunds up to three years out due to the seller not having valid reason or failing to respond to the charge back.
