Liquid Plumber?
My shower is draining real slow these days...is it safe to use Liquid Plumber? I am fulltiming it but hooked to sewage so it would not just stay in the tank.

I use it. It says on the bottle that it's safe for plastic pipes.
You may need one of these. It's called Zip-it

I second that
I used the gel Liquid Drano on my shower and it did very little. I them popped the drain cover off with a small screwdriver and saw a massive hair ball. Went to Home Depot and bought the Zip-it and WOW!!! Looked like I pulled a small cat out of my drain. The Zip-it is a very cheap fix and my shower drains perfectly now

You may not even the the Zip-It. Pop off the drain cover and you may be surpirsed at what you find underneath.

Actually, you can dig that hair out with a piece of bent (bailing type) wire if you have some available.
Is the liquid plumber or liquid drano OK to use with the "rubber" gaskets on the drain valves? I don't know so am bringing it up as a consideration.

Oops, I said Liquid Drano, I meant to say Liquid Plumber. I've been told it fine for all RV plumbing. Personally I would not want it sitting in my gray tank though. I wouldn't use it unless I was hooked up to a sewer.

You should schedule shower hairs extraction every few months. I use the zip-it as others have addressed but u can also just get the sheddings out with a long piece of wire or simply a screwdriver. And then, voila, water drains fast and furious like a race car.

I'd go with the Zip It or some other mechanical method first. Chemicals might be safe to the plumbing, tank and valves, but why go with caustic methods when simple will do it fine? I looked at a Zip It and thought a long zip tie with notches cut in with a utility knife would be a substitute. (What can I say, I'm cheap and have access to long zip ties)

Just remember that the ZipIt is considered a one time use item. Usually it is considered trash after one use.

I use the Liquid Plumber Foaming Pipe Snake drain cleaner. It is a two part liquid that comes in a single bottle with 2 separate chambers. I purchased it at Lowe's.
Whenever I notice the shower drain backing up(slow drain), I'll pour this down the drain until it foams up just enough to cover the drain.
The instructions say to leave it about an hour, then run hot water down the drain. I have found if I let it sit over night (6 to 8 hours), it seems to work best.
Here is Liquid Plumber on Amazon.

A couple of times per year I just remove the strainer cover on the shower drain dig what ever I can out of the drain then pull the hose through the window and with the nozzle on full power just put it in the hole for a few seconds. Done, drain cleared no zip no plumber and I go sit down and enjoy another liquid. Very pleased with myself.

Oh ya, I didn't even want to look at my zip-it ever again after clearing the drain. Honestly I don't think this drain had ever been cleared, not even by the previous owner.
It's cheap, it works great then just throw it away

I posted the photo of the Zip It above but have never needed to use it. We gave 4 sinks and 1 shower and put these strainers on all.
They do a great job. I do the Liquid Plumber twice a year for good measure.
