Looking for 4K 60FPS dash cam

Ideal camera will be genuine 4K (AKA 2160P) with 60FPS that can actually store the data from the camera without significant loss in compression.

The perfect camera will include a rear view wifi system of 4K 160FPS as well.

Any suggestions?

Our son has a BlackVue: https://blackvue.com

Too much money for us. We have a Garmin 56 on our Amazon wish list:

Can you read tag numbers from the video, or stills from the video?

So far the results are not encouraging. It appears that an adequate compression standard for 4K does not yet exist the HEVC (high efficiency video compression) results in high compression but also in lossless compression that compromises the high frequency components which what text is.

My current perspective is 4K is more of a marketing number than a reality because so much of the 4K data is loss in recording.

Next up is to investigate 1440P.

Looking for 4K 60FPS dash cam

We have Rove dash cams in all our vehicles. They are 4K but only 24 FPS at that quality. The images do come out well though.

They have some different models and one that comes with a front and rear camera.

Picked them up on Amazon for about $120 each.

Depending on what you want the overall dash cam for I know others have used go pros - more expensive but the image quality from running them on my Harley is great.

This should say "lossy" compressions no "lossless". HEVC files are about 50% higher compression than AVC.
