Macerator Selection
I have been using a sewer discharge Macerator for about 20 years - on various rigs. (Have been an RVer since my first popup in the early 60's so I have been at this for a long time but now that I am in my 80's I don't use the RV as much as I did a few years ago but when I do use it, I want everything working.)
The factory-installed macerator on my Leisure Van Libero quit after a few years and I replaced it with a Flojet. The Flojet lasted about 2 years. I mainly use the Macerator discharge but I carry a slinky as a backup so I am not caught with full waste tanks and no way to dump but must use the Macerator at home. (I learned the hard way by not testing the macerator first with a shot of Grey Water check first to see if it was working.) Sorry I digress. Anyway, I am looking for the best macerator with a long-life history. I see there is a very cheap one out there - called a "Yeagoo", then there is another brand named "Cocoarm" and of course the "Flojet". (Maybe others). Thinking about buying 2 cheap ones, thus having a spare might be a good option, I do a permanent mount but it is easy to swap out one for the other - a clamp removal and quick-connect electrical connection and it just twists off.
Here is the question: What is your experience with Macerators and what one would you recommend as the best replacement? (To suggest I just use the slinky all the time s not an option for me.) Thx

I've been using a Thetford Sani-Con for about 5 years now, it's still working just like it should. The model I use has been discontinued, this is their current lineup.

We used the SaniCon that came in our '06 Dynasty for 15 years and never once used the 3" hose. Had a couple of minor "train wrecks" early on, but nothing big.
We recently traded down to a 27' Entegra and I bought the SaniCon portable unit. It comes in a carrying box and works just like the one we used for so many years. It's not "cheap", as you say, but it is good. Sani is short for "sanitary", and it truly is.

Our Tiffin dealer installed Model 600 Sanicon in our 2021 Allegro Bus. Very pleased. It works very well. Had one in our old bus but do not know the brand.

2008 bought portable Flojet Macerator that connects to end of 3" dump line
Still have it...still use it W/O issues
Once a year I break it down and clean the cutter blades and wear plate---usually hair and gunk
Other than that...runs/grinds/pumps great....128 Gal of waste (black & grey total)

I have the flo Jet, and don't use it but at home. I find that I need to use a common screwdriver at the base to break free the motor, otherwise it sticks and blows the fuse; every time.
