My canned response on cleaning the tanks and sensors:
𝗖𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗪𝗛𝗜𝗟𝗘 𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗞𝗘𝗗:
The black tank was flipping too soon to 1/3 and too soon to 2/3 (less than two days) and the Tecma toilet level sensor also changed to 1/2 (yellow) too soon so the tank level sensors were dirty.
I poured 1/2 of a 16 ounce bottle of Blue Dawn into the rear toilet and used the Black Tank Flush to get the tank to over 2/3rds full. (I know that takes roughly 5 minutes at 50 PSI but yes, you do need to know your own fill rate.)
Then I just let the tank set five hours and drained it while using the Black Tank Flush. Then I closed the black valve and let the Flush fill the tank again until the indicator got to 2/3 plus about 20 seconds and drained the tank again.
Now, as is normal, it takes about 2 minutes of the Black Tank Flush to get to 1/3 and another 1:45 to get to 2/3 so I think we're fixed again.

When we leave for the next destination I'll dump both tanks and add about 8 oz of Blue Dawn into gray and 8 oz into black. I'll use the Black Tank Flush to add maybe 10-15 gallons into the black tank.
I'll pour the Blue Dawn into the bathroom sink drain, put the drain plug in, half-fill the sink, and pull the plug. That flushes the Blue Dawn out of the P-trap. Then I'll run the sink to add some more water.
As we're driving, the water and the Blue Dawn will slosh around and kind of scrub the tanks. Then I dump upon arrival at the next stop.
No tank treatments or pouches are dropped in the pedal toilet. I did that for the first two years and no longer do.

However, one of our Georgetown toilets is a macerator toilet. A macerator has a kind of a garbage disposal function and grinds everything up. We use the macerator toilet for 100% of all #2 usage.
If we had two pedal toilets where "solid stuff" was being "deposited" in the black tank intact I'd probably use something in the tank as precautionary.
Due to the macerator toilet also using more water I never add any water to the black tank after dumping. There's been no need in five years.
So once again the correct answer may be "It depends."
