MCD duo-shade memory loss

When in storage, I turn off the house and chasis batteries (perko switches in the bay) given the large volume of phantom loads. The PO must have done some re-wiring as wierd items still run with both batteries turned off e.g. bath fantastic fan.

Anyway, when I return to use the coach, I have to re-program two of my shades (only the night roller on two windows). Given they are the driver side and passenger side windows, I have to correct this before pulling out (safety item).

I have to call tech support as I have a separate shade that is 'free wheeling' -guessing a broken spring. But I thought I'd ask here as there are a lot of MCD users on this site.

It happens to some of the shades in our coach randomly. I've got one that's acting up now, I reprogrammed the shades once already and it immediately lost it again.

I was told once that it usually happens because of low voltage - trying to operate the shades with less than 12V. I can't see how that would happen in our setup, but you never know.

Finally got a chance to call MCD today. He was pretty sure it was a low voltage issue and that I should not try to operate the shades following storage (batteries turned off) until the engine is started as the front shades are wired into the chasis battery and the engine alternator might provide the correct power. Given it was only the night and not both (night and day) shades, I'm not sure.

As for the free-wheelin shade, it isnt a spring issue since it is motorized. It is the motor's transmission. Apparently, too much force (winding up beyond max) will cause damage.
