MicroQuiet 4000, high idle speed

Our unit idles at too high an RPM, I feel. Turning the idle screw does not help. Before I start taking things apart, I want to find out if folks have input for a solution.

Thanks

The engine speed is set for 120 volt and 60 Hz output. Unless your having overvoltage issues, you do not want to change that. It must run at a constant ( 3600 RPM ? ) speed.

The idle screw is not controlling engine speed as you discovered, a speed control or governer, of some kind, is.

If its making good electric, leave it alone.

There is no "idle" on a generator. As Twinboat said they are constant speed to produce constant frequency (60 Hz).
