Mysterious Electrical Failure

Twice yesterday while running the generator in an off grid location all the circuits went dead. A/C etc went off. I checked the breaker on the still running genset and it was not tripped. Inside I turned off each breaker, then turned the charger breaker back on. In a few seconds it lit the charger. I put the rest of the breakers on one at a time until I had a relatively full load going. Hour later same thing happened. No breakers were tripped, gen still running, everything cut off. This time after turning off all the breakers I only brought a few items back on and it didn't happen again. This is a new one on me - sometimes the 50 amp breaker on the genset will trip perhaps if both a/c units try to start at the same time, but in this case no breakers tripped. Any thoughts? I'm on the road another 2 months and will be running the generator frequently. Thanks. Peter

Happened to my generator during a heat wave. Nothing tripped but the power dropped out.

In a few minutes, before I got my lazy butt out of the chair, I heard the ATS clunk and power came back on. OK AC was back.

It did it one more time and only then did I get up, go out and open the generator door. Boy was it hot in there. I left it open and it was fine for the heat wave.

This was in a thunder storm - wet, lots of rain so not especially hot. So the theory is that the dynamo got too warm and something opened to protect it? But what I wonder. I've been running the genset for a/c in this truck stop tonight and no issues. I'll keep in mind the idea of opening the compartment (front slide mount) if it happens again. Thanks for the input.
