Well it's an On The Go brand. I can't tell from the picture if its single or a double and I have never seen that manifold on one. It looks someone lost or damaged the original and found something else that works. As long as it puts water in through one hose and out through the other I see no reason it won't work.

Looks like a stripped down off brand residential unit to me. Adapting to an RV might not be possible unless the head unit can be replaced.

I've been hauling this thing around for several years since I bought the coach. The PO was probably a snowbird spending winters in Yuma, AZ and Livingston, TX. We haven't found a need for it so I pulled it out of the basement for the needed space.
I think I'll save it in case we need it someday but I don't think we'll be spending much time in the typical snowbird states, including my beloved home state of Texas, until they come to their senses. I can put up with hard water better than with hard heads.
I have tried, but not too hard, to twist the head unit off counterclockwise since I'm not familiar with these units at all and don't want to break it. It does look very much like the images of the standard On The Go but with a different head unit. Can I assume I can unscrew the top to find some kind of resin which I probably should replace if I want to put it back into service after doing a backflush and regeneration?

The resin is probably just fine.
I would put it into service, do a couple of backflush / regens and see how it does before pulling it apart.

But yes, typically you do unscrew the head to service the head / resin / dip pipe.
