Brian, It is altogether likely that you will find that your alarm is defective. Replace the unit and your issue should be resolved. I'm on my 3rd LP detector. PS: They ain't cheap but my recommendation should resolve your issue.

Until you can get a new one and replace the likely defective one, you can unplug it from the back of the unit (have to remove the unit from its mounted position. I had to do that to mine when I first bought my coach as the alarm was defective. I would recommend replacing it as soon as possible.

Or you could just remove the fuse...but be sure to replace it when you get the new unit installed...

wrapped it in a blanket all night (its hard wired) and i believe it shuts the LP down via solenoid/valve . it is currently working ,as we are still out another week i hope it holds out till we return to home base'i really hate being in fl for 6 weeks but our economy needs my participation.
a big thanx for everybody's help

I read on some forum that a dude was able to 'fix' it by blowing compressed air thru the unit backwards. hey - if it's shot, try anything, right? Sounds like it's a CCI, with relay control. As they went out of business, you may need to install a different mfr unit, which likely requires a different relay.

Ours did that one time. I removed it from the wall and discovered an inline fuse. I removed the fuse and found the terminals corroded. I simply sprayed the contacts with cleaner, plugged it in/out several times to wipe away the corrosion, and it has worked normally ever since.

I got blasted out of bed at 3 am once. Replaced the unit and got blastred out of bed at 4 am. I still have the unit but it is not connected. I can smell gas and do not need to be awaken by false alarms in the wee hours of the morning. I know you all are going to say I am not safe. If the damn units are unreliable what good are they??????

You stated "I can smell gas", how do you do so when asleep?
