I found that the Blue Line press on fittings were the only ones that would fit in the Dutch Star's storage tube due to their much smaller size. Still using them even though I don't have the DSDP's anymore.

A bigger hole solved many of us with that problem.

Newmar uses a 6" hole as standard. No need to change anything. Just install the clear 45 elbow, adjust it up or down so it sits over the access hole, and then attach the sewer hose from the bottom.
This is not complicated.

Exactly what I have and do.

Tried your suggestion again yesterday. My adapter lugs are almost touching the inner part of the drain hole making it impossible to connect the hose. Can't go up from the underside either. There simply is not enough room. Moved the outlet through the range of motion and it just doesn't work.

In researching this on this and other forums I discovered there are many flavors of this problem even in what you would assume to be the same setups. Holes and outlets not in the exact same spots on the same coaches, some need a 45 adapter while some use a 90. Some people have replaced the floor with a bigger hole or move the hole. I have the cord reel for the hose so maybe that affects the placement of the hole and/or outlet.

In my case the smaller red connector vs the Rhino made the situation better (not solved) and more tolerable.

Sorry to hear that. Since you have a new Coach, I would be in contact with Newmar for a solution before making any modifications on your own. I can assure you this is not normal.

This issue is on my punch list of things when we visit the Newmar factory.

You are not the only one that thinks this.

I also saw a pic in this thread where the "fresh water" hose is installed in-line with the sewage rinse system. While separated with valves, this seems risky to me. Does Newmar do this? If so, I would be isolating those systems asap.

Not done by Newmar. That was an owner's set up.

Rod, that was my photo and I did that mod myself. Just to clarify, there is a check valve at both the fresh water and rinse connections. In addition, there is a Newmar installed Vaccum Break Valve on the black water rinse line that is there to prevent back flow from the rinse into the fresh water line. See photo.

Thanks Dennis, got it. Ive got those check valves as well, and while multiple and concurrent failures are needed to cause a problem, the proximity is still to close for me..

As long as it don't contaminate the ice cubes in my Rum, I'll take my chances. [emoji12]
