Need help with rv fridge

Hello, my name is Terry. I am a new member and really have no idea about navigating this website. Anyway I have a 1985 Shasta motor home with a norcold eg2 refer. It works great on shore power but will not work on propane, no ignitor. I know about the recall, but my model is not one of them. I am a certified electrician but not a refer guy. If anyone out there has some diagnostic info to trouble shoot this problem it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Terry

I don't know if you will find any help in the " Files " section , to the right of "User CP in the blue bar under the Welcome and your name .
Click the drop box then, "appliances" a few Norcold posts and info there.
Propane requires 12v power, do you have a battery installed , checked 12v fuses?

12V

Actually, the refrigerator requires 12V to work on AC as well. The control board is only powered by either battery OR converter.

If it's trying to ignite you should be able to hear the spark when you turn it

No spark? Problem is electrical.

Is the gas on? (Yeah, dumb question but you'd be surprised how often that's the reason)

If the gas was off there may be air in the lines?

Could be you going to have to remove the control board an see if , 1 you can see any hot spots on the circuit board. or 2, have a local RV repair shop that can bench test it.
When switched to propane , the board should , power the propane solenoid and begin the spark cycle .
