New generator, old remote? Start/stop switch question

I recently replaced my 1995 onan 4000 bge spec k with a new Onan 2.8 HGJBB. I also bought the adapter harness Onan # 338-3513 to mate the new generator remote wiring to the old harness.
What I'm not sure of is if I need to replace the old start/stop switch siince the new generator has a priming function before starting. I'm afraid to push the remote switch until I'm sure it's ok. Anyone know?

Many of the gas Onan's use the Stop position of the switch which doubles as Prime.

That is what I'm wondering, if the stop position position of the old switch will also prime. I just afraid of hooking it up and frying a control board

So the answer from Cummins/Onan (took a week) was that the 338-3513 adapter is all I need. All I will be missing is the indicator light. The tech said to hold the switch in the stop position for a 8-10 count to prime the pump and start as I would normally.
