Newbie and 12v Fridge Question

I am new to OutdoorsRV, just purchased a 2025rds Timber Ridge. I've never had a 12v fridge before, just propane and electric. I'm getting ready to take my first longish trip (900 miles) in my new rv.
A friend suggested I set the Furrion fridge to the 1 o'clock position and within and hour and a half my freezer was at 11 degrees and the fridge was at 39 degrees (according to my fridge/freezer thermometers). Really impressed on how fast it cooled down. I loaded food yesterday and this morning, checking my thermometers, my freezer is now at 34 degrees and fridge is still at 39 degrees. Weather overnight has been in the low 30s. Does the compressor shut off when it's cold outside and cause the temperature internally to go up? As the day warms up will the compressor kick on and get the freezer cold again, or do I already have an issue with this brand new fridge. Any help would be appreciated.

It's typical for refrigerators to regulate temperature based on the refrigerator portion, so if ambient temperature is near the refrigerator compartment setpoint (nominally 35F) then the compressor won't run. If you want to prove what's happening, put an incandescent bulb in the refrigerator to warm it above the setpoint and you should see the compressor start, and freezer get cold.

Did you have the shore power plugged in ? If the batteries are run low, the fridge stops working.

What do you have for batteries? Check the voltage.

They make dual compressor fridge freezers, presumably have dual thermostats to keep better control of the freezer. Otherwise, the thermostat is in the fridge, and it will behave exactly as you say.
