Hi all,

The left door of our Norcold 1200 4-door reefer looks like it needs to be raised up a fraction because the door 'flipper' (the panel that flips open/closed between the doors) is wearing on its guide plate at the bottom.

I looked at the door hinge mounting plate, but it is not designed to adjust up/down. It really looks like a washer needs to be added at the bottom door hinge pin to raise the door up from the bracket.

Anybody have any ideas?

(I looked in the Norcold service manual, but it doesn't address mechanics)

John, I had a problem with my frig in which the door open beep would sound for no reason whenever it felt like it. The Norcold tech at GNR this year put a spacer on both bottom hinges to adjust the doors. It looks quite thin and is where the door pin goes through the door into the box bracket. He also told me they have finally changes this design.

It should be fairly simple to do. It took him only a few minutes to do both doors. Maybe Norcold would send you the spacers they use.

Olive - ah-ha! My thought was the real deal! Unfortunately this problem wasn't on the radar while we were at GNR. Our problem happened so slowly, didn't realize what was going on.

Thanks very much for responding

Update: I cut a couple of washers from some nylon (about 1/16" thick) and made a "V" shaped notch in the side so I could simply raise up the doors a little and pop the new washer into the hinge post.

Been working great for several days.
