Norcold 1200 Problems

We had the cooling unit replaced over a year ago. We now have another problem with the alarm going off showing showing fault codes of "No Co", "No HE" & "No FL". I can get the unit to run on LP for awhile, but only the freezer is cold. Anyone had these problems & what is the fix? I'm tired of spending money on this unit. I thought about a residential refer, but I have know idea which one & how much work & cost is involved. If you convert what do you do with the vent behind & overhead? Do you have to bring in through the window or will a unit fit through the door? What about the new Norcold, are they any better or a waste of money?

My sentiments exactly. I finally bought a residential unit, for about $800 (I believe the new Norcolds are selling for about $5,000). I went to my dealer and paid them $1,800 to install it for me. They had to remove a window to do it. I just placed a cover on the inside of the wall vent, but haven't done anything to the roof vent.

My residential has been working great, for two years, and I will never go back to a "Not Cold"!

Here is a link to a 1200 service manual http://janeandjohn.org/docs/Norcold1200Manual.pdf You will need your serial number because the fault codes differ.

I blocked all but a small opening in the side cover right in front of the fan in the rear of our Samsung and put window screen over it. They are really supposed to get air from inside as inside a home obviously there is no vent but the clearance was so close on our MH I decided it couldn't hurt. If you camp anywhere that it gets cold I would consider blocking both vents so cold air does not blow in. The back of the Norcold is kind of sealed from the outside air. We try to never be anywhere to cold.

Another thought. Has the recall been done on your Norcold?
