Evelyn and I are planning to visit Gaffney and stay in Gulf shores in November
This week I called the Norcold recall hotline and found out that our unit is included in the updated recall that know includes all units up to the model year 2010.
Our question is what are your thoughts about travelling without doing the recall it will take two weeks to get parts into Canada and then try to get a Norcold recognized dealer to do the work. This would eat into our trip time>

I would turn the fridge off at night when I went to bed and turn it back on in the morning. It should stay cold enough.

Where did you get your information about the recall? I ask, because I just (last thursday) got my RV back from Lazy Days, in Tampa, for a non-working Norcold 1200.They put a new "brain" into it and it works fine now. I specifically ask them if my fridge was on the recall list. They said it wasn't (my RV is a 2005 model). In fact, they put it in writing!
