Norcold 1200 Refrigerator Won't Turn On Help!

Folks,

Hoping someone can help me out.

Just tried to turn my Norcold 1200 Refrigerator on and it won't power up. Took the exterior grill off the refrigerator and hear an occasional clicking which sounds like it's coming from the black box attached to the rear of refrigerator.

Does anyone have any thoughts on what the issue might be? I do not have the recall switch installed so it isn't that.

Appreciate assistance anyone can provide.

Thanks,

Mike

First thing is make sure you have good 12 volt power. If your batteries drop below 10 volts the control board ( that black box) won't fire up. Beyond that there are a number of troubleshooting guides available from a google search but you will potentially need a multimeter to do the testing.

All:

I took the cover off the back of the refrigerator and checked the 5amp fuse and that was ok.

All I hear is clicking when I try to turn the refrigerator on but nothing powers up.

Wondering if maybe it's the control board?

Is the red light on the black box illuminated?
If it is, take a strong magnet and rub it on the side of the box. This would reset the high temperature cutout switch.
Does the control panel light up? If yes, turn it off momentarily and turn it back on.
If that doesn't work press mode and power simultaneously and follow up with all the stored codes.

Carl,

I confirmed that I have 12v going to the board. Don't have the recall switch on my unit.

Just hear occasional clicking when I try to turn the unit on.

Thinking maybe it's the control board?

Without DC energizing the circuit board NOTHING will work......controls, display, AC or GAS

Was that 5A fuse a Auto BLADE Type or a Glass tube fuse
Depending on S/N the DC circuit is protected by a 3A or a 5A auto blade fuse
**5A glass fuse is for the AC circuit

12VDC to circuit board and nothing happening......circuit board is faulty
Is this in your 2006 year RV? Surprised no Recall Box

Depending on S/N determines which circuit board

I wonder if that black box he mentioned is the recall box or PC box cover?

All:

I checked both the 5amp Auto Blade fuse as well as the glass fuse and both are fine.

Yesterday afternoon I went to check the fridge and it was lite up and working. I had to pull the wires the put the power board cover back on. Did that and reconnected all the wires and now it's not working again.

All I hear when I push the on button is a click and click continues every couple of minutes but no power to the refrigerator.

Wondering if it just may be the power board that needs to be replaced.

Appreciate everyone's comments.

Mike

Sounds like the 12VDC leads/terminals are making intermittent contact.....
Check if they are tight.....
Terminals on circuit board could be loose/broken---new lower circuit board

Just to clarify:
Auto Blade Fuse IS for DC
Glass fuse is for AC ----nothing to do with display/controls etc just heater element ccircuit

I don't know if you've attempted to retrieve the code?
Shot in the dark ....

Disconnect the thermistor from behind the light.
This will force the unit to run.?
Before you go buying parts retrieve the codes.
Hopefully this link works.

You mentioned clicking. Are you sure that is not the propane trying to ignite.

Confirm that the Norcold is level in all directions. As @carl.swoyer suggested, disconnect the interior light then turn the unit on. Leave doors closed for 48 hrs with a thermostat inside.
