Norcold 1200 still sputtering after replacing burner orifice
My Norcold 1200 was sputtering when running on LP so I took out the burner and thoroughly soaked it and cleaned it, but it still sputtered when reinstalled. Purchased brand new burner orifice from Dave at RV Cooling Warehouse and installed it and unit is still sputtering. What is the next thing I should check or replace?

I would suspect the LP regulator! Are you using a gas stove and if so, is the flame normal on it? What about the water heater?

Gas stove, hot water heater, and furnace are all normal while on LP.

We had a similar experience this summer with our Dometic fridge up in the Yukon on our way to Alaska. Our stove and furnace also worked fine. I called the GS Elite Tech hotline and he said it could be the main LP regulator on our trailer. A day or two later the stove and furnace would not work either. We managed to fine a regulator at the Tesora gas station in Tok, Alaska a couple of days later and everything has worked fine since then.

Air in the line perhaps? Let it sputter for awhile while monitoring it.

Is the solenoid valve opening or possibly clogged?

Do you have a sliding vent adjustment on tube allow more air into tube and see if that helps.
A link from TECH INFORMATION below.

Did you try what "007" suggested?

I don't know of a sliding vent adjustment on a Norcold 1200. Is there one on a 1200? I also have not replaced nor cleaned the burner tube. Could that cause the sputter?

It would be the baffle that slides and in doing so meters the air going into the tube for the flame.

Can someone please describe where this slide is in relation to the burner or the gas valve?

Well I'll have to admit I assumed it had one after reading a couple of previous posts in this thread and then realizing you were having difficulty locating this, just maybe it doesn't exist after all. I truly thought it did too. I googled it and did not see it on any of the YouTube videos. Check out the YouTube videos on Norcold 1200 burner.

Eric, did you ever get the sputtering fixed? I just replaced my Burner with a brand new one and it is sputtering too. The old one I had did not sputter. I replaced it because of a distorted flame, and not cooling very well. With the new burner, the flame looks good, just like Norcold suggests it should look like.
Actually, I'm not sure it's a sputter so much as a popping or puffing. The flame seems to pop off slightly then right back on, it's not consistent either, if you look at the flame when it does it, it just kinda pops but keeps going.
And all my other propane appliances work just fine.
Any other ideas, anybody?
