NorCold 1200LRIM Dutch Aire cooling system died

Woke up 3 mornings ago to ammonia smell.......drat ...the 4door fridge died again.....must be a pinhole because smell lasted 3 days...and set off beepers..
So everything is shut down and we are staying with son in the stick and brick.

Sept 2017 replaced original Norcold cooling unit that lasted 14 yrs....back then about $1200 and we did it ourselves. Old thread has pics on this forum.
Not real happy about 5yrs and 3 mos. I was hoping for over 10yrs because they bragged on thicker material and Amish made.

We CANNOT go residential because fridge is in slide and we are dealing with 63 inches tall...plus we like propane for dry camping.
Will DIY again next month as we are looking at around $1500.

The reason I am posting is there are several internet sites that offer this unit and we would like your opinion good or bad.
I believe the part number is #634747
1) JC refrigeration $1145 plus shipping
2) RV Fridge guys $1399 free shipping
3) Amazon $1224 ????
4) Camping World $1059 - shipping??

Are these manufactured by same vendor??
PS: we had good acceptable temps in both fridge and freezer compartments with the Dutch Aire as we were real meticulous on R &R..sad it didn't last longer..

JC has a very good reputation and build their own cooling units at their Shipshewana Indiana facility.

I just need a roadmap what to do next month to deal with this. I would buy another from them hoping longer service...

I would be considering a 12V compressor model cooling unit for your Norcold. If/when ours ever dies that's my plan.

JC Refrigeration is the maker of the Amish cooling units.

Will have to measure.

And I cannot yet see a picture of a completed unit how the control panel fits in.
Does their control replace the original Norcold panel on the front of the refrigerator?

Doesn't clarify WHERE the controller is mounted

'Assume' it is Inside the Food Compartment (fans for circulating)

Yes, pages 53-55 of the installation manual.
