Like Dometic's recall, this recall is not for defective units but to make the units safer.

I agree Mike but if we see newer units failing might there be a problem.
I'm all for the safety aspect of recalls will just have to see what year units will fail.
I live in salt water area pipes full of rust might expect it to fail with 8 years coming up. Had older coachs with same rust never failed maybe they made better cooling units on older coachs & trailers.

It's the one we've been discussing for the past 3 weeks or so, here.

Why some may be pulled
If you didn't have first recall done they will have to pull fridge to correct replacement of old insulation canister.
This post explains why.

How about newer models ( 2008 ) that were not recalled the first time?

I would think your newer model should already have the solid canister covering.
The first recall had the "new insulation canister" in the recall parts do not know what the new recall parts have with it.
Newmar or a dealer has to order the kit parts from Norcold, Newmar did not stock parts took two weeks to get the parts from Norcold.
If you have old crumbly canister think you should insist on getting one allot better than old.

I have added a Newmar TSB for a DOMETIC COOLING UNIT RECALL
It takes a while for TSB to upload.
