Norcold four door - door open beeping

Sometimes the door open alarm starts beeping. A vibration or bump starts it beeping. Open and close or just push on the right side refrig door and it stops. Until the next time...

Who has been here before and knows a fix?

Thanks!

When I bought my 08 , Norcold had a TSB out re the doors and authorized a repair. It was a shim seal kit for the doors. That's all I know. Maybe that's what you need. Their # is 877-294-5265.

Our Norcold will do that if there is nothing on the top shelf. Drove us nuts one day last year. No problems one day and door alarm the text. Found out DW had moved everything off the top shelf. Reloaded the top shelf and no alarm now for six months. I have no idea why, gremlins maybe.

I found the easy fix was to apply a small piece of peel and stick foam tape to the face of the switch lever at the top center of each door side. The tape I used was about 1/16" to 1/8" thick.

This was a common repair on the frig. The switch is on the ramped part of the door. The higher the door goes up, the more the switch closes. The factory repair is to add a washer or two to the bottom hinge. Make sure you use stainless washers.

Tried similar. But no joy. :-(

Yeah I was wondering about this. But unsure since I put a shim on the door to press the switch more and did not help. Also have just taped over the switch with no joy.

Howdy!

We had the same problem for years. We had the recall up date on the door and that worked for awhile. One thing that helps is the clean the sencor, use sand paper small file and some alcohol based cleaner. We will replace it with a residentual ref when it goes out.

As a wild shot, could the beeping be caused from the 3 switch buttons on the left door side somehow instead of being caused by the light switch at the top.

Howdy!

Zippo, I clean the contact pionts on the left side and that seems to help out.

After trying the several suggestions, I found improvement but not a full fix. So now am not putting anything on the shelves in the doors and the problem does not occur...

Not optiml, but better than getting up in the middle of the night to stop the infernal beeping.

Thanks all!
