Norcold Fridge won't stay lit.
I have a Norcold Fridge model 6035 (or maybe it's 6053) I had a new cooling unit installed in it. Now I can't get the fridge to stay lit up on propane. It's not the igniter everything is working like it should ( I put a new dinosaur igniter board in is some years back and a bran new igniter a few days ago)
It's like there is air in the system but, there can't be. The furnace is right below it and it works fine as does the stove and the water heater.
It just keeps popping until finally it goes out.
Pop, pop,, poof, poof, And finally it pops enough until the flame goes out. It will try and successfully relight a few times but, eventually it goes out enough times that the board shuts it down completely. It almost seems to get worse the longer it runs.
I'm completely stumped. It always worked fine before. It's such a simple system. I cant imagine what could be wrong.
I do have a new Burner Assembly on the way . It will be here on Tuseday. But, when the flame is lit the color is good and the flame is big, it just keeps popping and going out.
Anyone have any other ideas on what the problem could be ?

6053----6000 series 3 way
Popping.......imbalance in fuel/air ratio
Clean burner assembly
Orifice.....soak in alcohol/air dry-----NO Poking or using High air pressure
Burner .....wire brush, bottle brush, air pressure

Ordered a new orifice and burner assembly,,, and of course it's different. That sucks. The way it attaches to the propane line is different. It looks like I will have to search around places until I find a the right connection with a piece of line on it. Then I will have to cut the old line and use a piece of hose and two clamps in between.
The flame is so nice when it does work is this the only thing it could be ???
I removed the old one and tried to clean it with no luck. I'm guessing that the person who installed my new cooling unit blew it out. That is standard procedure on farm propane heaters. I didn't soak it in alcohol. I have no alcohol. I was hoping the new one would bolt on and solve the problem. Now it will take me weeks to figure out how to install it.
I'm starting to get frustrated and disappointed. I just put a new cooling unit on this fridge and it starting to look like I will never get it to operate on propane again.
I sure used to love my Norcold gas electric fridge. It worked so well when other people complained that theirs would not. I sometimes camp with no electric and it was nice to have a fridge. Back to buying bags of ice several times a day I guess.

I ordered a burner tube that I know looks to long and the bends are not right for my application. I'm hoping that it has the right ends on it. If it does I will either bend it to fit or, cut and splice it.

Well, after many months I got the fridge fixed. The thing is that I am either working or camping. I don't have very much time in between. So I haven't had time to work on it. I tried ordering another tube that was sold as being the correct one and it wasn't. Now that I had 2 I decided to just throw caution to the wind and start bending it. After about a 1.5 hours of bending it this way and that I was able to find a position that would work without the tube rubbing on anything. Next problem was that you are suppose to put the burner on the tube and then install it and I couldn't do that. I had to put the burner in the hole first and then install the tube. This meant that I could not get a wrench on the fitting to get it tight. I found a cheap 5/8 wrench and cut/broke it to the right length so that I could get it to work in that spot and tightened the fitting. It's in the shed running great right now with no propane leaks.
For a over a month I was buying lots of ice and using coolers. ( that sucked) For another month I had the fridge working but, not on propane so I always had to use spots with electric. Now that it's fall I love being able to park anywhere without needing to plug in so I hope this works. Everyone cross your fingers for me and maybe it will work. Have a nice Day ,,Caveman CBB.

Hi Caveman. Seems my sister has exactly the same issue with her Norcold 6053 3-way fridge. I ordered the new burner assy only to find the supply line fitting was different. After several hours of looking online for a replacement alum. tube I'm stuck. It sounds like you were able to make something work. Any details of where buy this thing?
Thanks,
RS
