Norcold hinge replacement part.

The lower hinge on our Norcold 'fridge broke while we were camping this past weekend. I have glued it but don't have too much faith in that. I know that there is a part that is sold to beef up that cheap hinge but I cant find the part number. I called Norcold yesterday and spoke with Kent. He was of no help to me. He gave me a part # (623955) which was $195.00! At least that is what my RV store said that it costs. My understanding is that it is around $40.00 and we get two support brackets for that. I even asked at Norcold how much does a new door cost, and he said that they don't sell them! :-(
Anyway, the model # for my Norcold is: 611T It opens from the right side.
If anyone has ordered that part and knows the part number, that would be terrific and I could go ahead and order it right away.
One last thing, I gave Norcold a piece of my mind for even incorporating such a cheap, flimsy hinge into an expensive refrigerator.
Thanks a lot!
Jim

The hinge replacement part only works on 1200 4 door refrigerators. For the refrigerator you have you need a door insert, about $150.

Here is what you were looking for Norcold 634166 Hinge Retro Fit Kit

Got it! It came in nice and clear.
Would you happen to know offhand if it it made of metal or plastic? The reason why I ask is because I have read that some folks have installed a plastic retrofit only to have it break shortly afterwards. I don't want that to happen.

They are plastic. I took them and used them as a template and made a similar fix out of 1/16" stainless. I then used three rivets to attach to the door. No problems since.

Leave it to Norcold to make a part out of plastic that was working well when it was made out of metal.

THey are plastic? Darn!! I already ordered them! That's okay though. I will do as Sparky ( #6) has done and use the cheap plastic part as a template to make it out of steel. Yea, leave it to Norcold to replace one cheap part with another!! Sheeeesh!

Not sure what you mean? Are you saying that your 1210 might possibly fit my Norcold, and if so, you would sell/give them to me if they do?

Sparky, I just recieved my replacement hinge parts and they are not made of plastic. At least not the ones that I have. I think that is important for all to know that at the very least, they are getting a metal part.
