Norcold Lrim1200 Gas valve replacement

The gas is not working on my Norcold frig and I believe it is the gas valve. I researched a replacement and seems I cannot get the original part (621329) so I ordered what I think is the replacement (633726).

When I got the new part in it looked different enough that I'm concerned it may not work.

Does the replacement part look right? Also, does it matter which wire is plugged into which side of the valve (ie, does one side have to be positive)?.

First I will qualify my answers by saying I don't know FOR SURE from personal experience, but it would be my expectation that if you can "reroute" the gas lines on both sides to mate with the connections it should work. Secondly, unless there is diode protection on the coil which I do not see in the picture and which is pretty unlikely, polarity should not matter.

I'd say, if you can physically get it installed it should work for you. It's made by Norcold for that purpose and the specs on the nameplates look pretty similar. A lot has changed in 20 years of manufacturing and I would expect them to have sent you what you need to repair your refrigerator. I wish you cheers and blessings and many years of happy RV'ing!

Now I have to go out and check my refrigerator serial number. [

HINT:
Serial Numbers IIRC are based on mfg before 1999 or after 1999

Thank you!

I reviewed my order and I ordered the correct part based on my serial number but was sent the wrong part. I surfed around and every vendor showed the wrong part with the number I need. I finally called Boat & RV Accessories and asked them to check the actual part number to be sure I was sent the right one. She assured me she would walk out to the warehouse and check before shipping.

Thanks again. Had you not posted this I would have assumed I got the right part.

The serial number on the frig in my 2003 Monaco is 1333732, well before the break mentioned in the part description.

This valve also fits all 1200 models with a serial number below 9186670.

Norcold S/Ns are not sequential
Your 1333732 S/N is AFTER the 9186670 S/N which was used on models PRIOR to 1999 production

The Gas Valve you have will work in your 2003

I am so lost. I don't understand when they say: "This valve also fits all 1200 models with a serial number below 9186670." how my serial is later.

I assumed the one I had was wrong so I returned it and ordered the 621334 one. Will it also work or should I order the one I had and returned?

Forget S/N.....forget RV MFG Date

Look at your current gas valve assembly

Does it have TWO components, one above the other?
Bottom component is a separate manual 'Shut Off '
Top component is the gas valve with Test Port on outlet side of solenoid
The 2 are connected with a jumper pipe

OR

Is it just ONE component
Gas valve with manual 'Shut Off' on inlet side and test port on outlet side

Old style......2 components/replacement is just the gas valve w/o an incorporated shut off

New style....1 component/replacement has shut off

Should have asked at beginning.......

How do you know gas valve is not working?
Did you check for 12VDC to gas valve AT the TIME of trial for ignition?
*Same time spark electrode would be firing ---large sparking
Did you measure resistance thru the solenoid....48ohms +/-?

Could be issue with circuit board and not gas valve.......
