Norcold quit cooling....Help please

Hi all,
about 5 weeks now fridge was getting too cold...like down in the 20's..so i would cut the fridge off and let it warm up...hoping to get home to get it fixed. Ha.
now the thing is not cooling at all...i'm thinking perhaps the thermostat went bad ?..the part attached to the fins.

What's your opinion?
thanks in advance
Joe

There are lots of facts that I could tell you, and they could all be the cause. Bad upper or lower boards, bad 12V power, bad heating element, bad thermister, bad connection, bad cooling unit, bad plastic liner and insulation.

There are steps to go through to find out.

How are you are 120V and 12V testing?

Follow the troubleshooting in the service manual... You'll need some basic test equipment.

Do you have any power to your controls at all? If not there may be a blown fuse on the control board located on the rear of the fridge.

If you will take the time, watch some of these videos on refrigeration operation and repair.

Sounds like

Sounds like BOS (Basic opening system) mode has been triggered. Reading the stored codes will probably tell you all you need to know
